The Confederation Service Academy represents centuries of tradition and creates the spirit of the Confed Fleet. It is based on Houston.
Every senator is entitled to two cadets for patronage. A certain number is reserved children of those who died while in service, and the usual number who manage to get in through their abilities. The remaineder few "slots" are dedicated to candidates outside the Terran Confederation.[1]
Cadets study there for five years
In a semester before 2634 there was a cheating scandal which alerted the press.
Around that year there were concerns about the necessity of the military and the Senate Appropriations Committee considered making cuts to the Academy. There were plans to downgrade it. College kids who would join the fleet would pass through only one year of training after college.
