C. W. McCubbin was a Lieutenant and Broadsword pilot on board the Concordia. He tractored Christopher Blair's damaged rapier after he saved Earth. McCubbin asked him who Saranya Carr was to see if he was alert, and to make a light joke.

The name of the pilot is hard to make out in the movie, but the helmet says Roberts. It is a cameo by Cristopher Roberts.
